Thank You, Meeting 9/12 and Upcoming Off Season News

I would like to thank everyone for their hard work this season! We had some of the best turn outs in a long time for our dinners. Once I get a copy of the 2014 schedule, I will be putting the *tentative* calendar together for our events for 2014. I am in contact with some other booster clubs in our league and trying to get a few new ideas that we can try to do for 2014. Hopefully I will hear from them all soon. To my shock, the WhiteCaps do NOT have a booster club. For the October meeting we will go over the schedule that I will be putting together so we can have some feedback. We will need to plan the golf outing this offseason so we can get sponsors and prizes. We will be shooting for May or June, depending on the schedule. Our next meeting will be Thurs 9/12 at Buddies in Holt at 6:30. I want to get a vote to see if we would like to have our October meeting there as well. I believe we will be voting on officers at the meeting. Before you know it, it will be March and we will be having our spring training warm up dinner and planning our welcome bags and first dinner with the team! Meeting Wednesday 8/7/13

Meeting is at 5:30 in Spartan Locker Room. Lot of information to discuss so I hope everyone can make it!

7/31 Get away bags rescheduled and FW Update for 8/4

Nick called FW and due to scheduling complications we are not able to do the dinner with the team in FW, HOWEVER, we will be getting together on the morning of Sunday Aug 4th to make sack lunch bags for the team. They will be given to them after the double header in the lobby of the hotel. There will be a sign put up in the locker room on the 3rd or 4th stating that. Also a note will be given to the coach staff...this way the players wont go out to eat as the hotel is one block from the stadium and they do not ride the bus to and from the park to hotel. With that said the scheduled get away bags on 7/31, will be moved to 8/26 after the game. The final dinner is 8/25 and the get away bags now on 8/26 will be the final home even with the team. If you are interested in going to FW on the 4th, it is a double header and I will need names for the pass list! I should be at the next 8 home games so if anyone has questions they can email me or find me at the park!

Meeting 7/10 and Get away bags 7/15 and 7/31 and Dinner 7/28

The meeting for July will be this wed 7/10 at the ball park. Will know time and place at the park tomorrow. Get away bags are 7/15 and 7/31 after the game. The game time for 7/31 is 12:05 pm so bring snacks the day before if works out better. Our next dinner with the team is 7/28 with possible ice cream social(will be discussed at meeting). Look for the update tomorrow and everyone should of received an email from Cal earlier today.

Radio Tomorrow 6/27 and Dinner Sunday 6/30

I will be on the radio tomorrow during the top of the 3rd inning to talk about the booster club. Tune in! The dinner is on Sunday and is an Italian Theme. Week of June 9-16

Sunday June 9th: Was the Dinner at West Michigan. It was a popular dinner as most of the food was gone and the players were very appreciative. There are pictures in the Booster Events Picture  Section. 

Thursday June 13th- Booster Meeting in the Club House at 5:30. 

Friday June 17th (Tentative Booster Table). May need someone to take Dan and I's spot. Will let you know or may have to move it to another day.

Sunday June 16th: Packing get-away bags. The players will not actually receive these until June 20th, as that is the first game back from the all star break. They will be going to Bowling G reen and Dayton. PLEASE NO PERISHABLE ITEMS SUCH AS APPLES ORANGES OR ANYTHING THAT MAY ROT, as the bags will be sitting around for a few days before the players receive them. 

South Bend Trip and Subs 5/26; Sloppy Joes at Bus at West Mich 6/9 and next meeting and other info

A few Booster Club Members made the trip to South Bend on May 26th. We cheered the team on and had subs for them at the bus after the game. All the players and coach's were very appreciative. I will be posting pictures from this event shortly! We decided to also feed the team in West Mich after the game on Sunday June 9th. This time it will be sloppy joes. If anyone plans on going, email me or comment below with your name so we can get you tickets and what you will be bringing. Our next meeting is June 13th at 6:00 at the Ballpark. (More info coming later). Our next getaway bag is 6/16, which is fathers day. The all star break runs from 6/17-6/19 so the bags will be given to the players on 6/20, so please nothing that will rot or spoil since it would be sitting around for a few days. Our next dinner is June 30th, which is also bark in the park. I will be sending out this in email form as well. Hope to hear back from people soon! Don't forget, we have copies of Jesse's Book to sell. The price of the books is $15.00 each and if interested or know someone who would like to buy a copy, see Cal.

Meeting 5/9/13

The meeting will be at Buddies in Holt on May 9th and 6:30 in the same room as the spring training dinner. The rest of the meetings during the season after this one will be held at the ballpark. More information coming soon. 

Get away bags 4/24.

The Lugnuts leave for an 8 game road trip to Iowa after the game on the 24th. this will be our second get away bag. there isn't one scheduled in may. I will get a hold of nick and see if they are leaving right after the game, if so, the ones who want to stick around could pass the bags out to the players as  they get onto the bus! 

There will soon be an application online to join the booster club.

Dinner Saturday After Game

Just a reminder, don't forget our first team dinner is after the game this Sat. 4/13. Main Dish is Beef Stew and it should be perfect weather for beef stew! any question comment here or send me an email!

This Wednesday 4/3/13 Events

Kind of a busy evening! But baseball is back finally. If possible meet at the ball park at 5:00 p.m. to start packing the welcome and get away bags. After this, we will do meet the team, then after meet the team we will have our April meeting. We will be mainly going over final touches for the team dinner on Sat 4/13. Any questions let me know! Bring a snack for 35 and if you were going to bring anything for the welcome bags, of course bring those also.

Pocket Schedule Stuffing Tomorrow

We will be packing pocket schedules tomorrow 3/21 at 6:00 p.m. I believe we will meet in the lobby of the main office and we will be lead down to the Spartan Locker Room. Hope to see who can make it tomorrow!!

Important Information and Dinner 4/13/13

First of all I would like to thank Nick and Josh for coming out to Buddies to tell us what to expect for the upcoming season. Hopefully you all received the email about NOT having the pocket schedule stuffing tomorrow due to an error on the schedule holders.

The gift for the team this year will be little pocket LED flashlights they can carry with them as suggested by Larry. Randy and Dawn will be picking those up and will be put into the welcome bags. We also need bags as we only have enough this time around. The welcome bags and get away bags will be packed together in one bag, on Wednesday April 3rd at 5pm in the Spartan Locker Room. If you have anything to donate to both the bags, please bring them to the stuffing and let me know before hand if possible. Roberm12@mail.lcc.edu. Season ticket meet the team starts at 6pm with introduction to the team at 7. Nick will put bags into players lockers.

We also need a sign for the team bus with the words Lansing Lugnuts on the front so it faces out of the bus and our logo on the back for inside the bus for the players to see.

As for the dinner: The main dish will be Beef Stew and Marcia, Fran, Randy and Mickey will be making the stew.

OUR NEXT MEETING: Will be AFTER meet the team in the Spartan Locker Room. We can discuss final preparations for the dinner on the 13th and other information. Hopefully we have a meeting place soon for the May meeting. Any questions? comment below.

First Event of the 2013 Season!

We will be meeting at Buddies in Holt on Sat. March 9th at 3:00 p.m.  for our annual "Spring Warm-Up Dinner." Members of the Lugnuts's staff will be on hand and will let us know what to expect for the upcoming season. Dinner is on your own. This will also be our March meeting date as well. We will be planning our events for April. They include: Welcome to Lansing Bags, Get-away-bags to start out the season, as well one later in April. The most important topic will be our menu for the first team dinner on Sat. April 13th. The game is at 2:05, and dinner will be following the game. What each person is bringing will be posted that way we all remember who is bringing what and who can sign up. Bring any ideas or questions to the dinner and the meeting!

Welcome to the new Lansing Lugnuts Booster Club website! We will have a calendar of events so everyone knows what is going on. When the event gets closer, more information will be available in a blog post. Use the contact tab to email us with any questions, application submissions and comments and ideas. To see what we are all about, please click on the mission statement tab. We will always be updating this site with tabs, posts and any other important information. If you wonder where did my favorite Lugnut(s) go, please check under the transaction tab. We will bring you updates on those players every so often to know how they are doing. Want to know how the Lugnuts did the game before? I will post a link after every game to check out the box score and recap. We will have links to the Lansing Lugnuts Website, Toronto Blue Jays Website, Midwest League Website and a link to search for a player (under Blue Jays Links). That will tell you where that player is currently playing and their stats so far! We are open to any suggestions and more information will be coming soon!
